Job Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth of Emerson"s residential & commercial HVACR portfolio through Copeland authorized distributors and contractors. Copeland AC has been a leading provider of heating and cooling solutions for residential and commercial applications, serving HVACR wholesale distribution for more than 75 years. In this role you will develop long-term, value-add relationships with customers, developing sales, marketing, and training plans to help your customers grow their business. AS AN AFTERMARKET SALES BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - AIR CONDITIONING, YOU WILL:
Develop and achieve annual sales plan with territory accounts across compressors, thermostats, heating & cooling controls
Develop, build and nurture wholesaler and contractor business relationships, resulting in a mutual and beneficial partnering position
Demand creation and develop pull-through sales process with territory contractors, delivering product & application knowledge, and implementing Contractor and end-user sales and marketing programs
Identify and implement account-specific, training opportunities that enable teaching for differentiation centered around Copeland AC product portfolio
Identify how, to whom, and when to provide merchandising, sales program, stocking programs, and product training wholesaler and contractor customers resulting in offering valuable perspectives on the market & territory
Develop sales, marketing, and training plans at identified headquarter locations - open houses, lunch & learn sessions, trade show events, and distributor ride-alongs
Develop shared performance metrics for identified branch locations
Provide feedback to product & marketing teams for product enhancements driving portfolio growth

Required Skills - External
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
4-year degree in business or mechanical/electronic technical discipline and five (5) years HVAC/R related experience
Competency with business-related software platforms for effective communication and decision development data analytics
Effective and adaptive oral and written communication skills for formal and casual presentations, business negotiation, and various problem-solving situations.
Ability to assess customer organizations to identify opportunities and to develop appropriate strategies and tactics to successfully attain profitable growth.
Must manage productive ongoing B2B relationships with customer contacts across various business and engineering roles.
Strong time management & prioritization skills, ability to multi-task and effectively delegate critical responsibilities to support team while delivering on-time solutions.
Ability to travel up to 65% for the job

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelors in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship or similar business discipline, or a Bachelors degree in a technical field
MBA/MS a plus
Sales background is preferred, but not required if HVAC industry experience includes customer-facing responsibilities
Seven (7) years HVAC/R related experience
Knowledgeable of HVAC/R compressors, systems, system components and electronics, and industry
Demonstrated success in B2B sales & account management, particularly involving OEM accounts
Multicultural awareness and global communication skills would be a plus.
