The Aircraft Mechanic 1 repairs and replaces MH47 functional components including rigging, flight controls, components, plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, and special tools/test sets.
Responsibilities + Works supporting the SOATB MH47 program. + The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulics, engines, axillary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. + This worker will read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. + This mechanic will be assigned to second shift. Qualifications + Must be a US citizen. + Must be able to obtain a secret clearance. + 6+ years' experience in Army aviation. + Ability to travel 1-2 weeks at a time / complete TDY assignments as required. + Maintain aircraft logbook forms and records. + Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate equipment/vehicles on the flight line and be a member of the aircraft towing team. + Experience using aircraft special tools and test sets. + Must have own tools/toolbox. + Experience with MH47 aircraft is desirable.
