Addison Group is partnering with our client, a well-established organization in the Rockville area, to hire a Bookkeeper to support their accounting department. The company offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for professional growth and internal promotion.

Job Description:

The Bookkeeper will handle a combination of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily financial transactions. This role involves processing invoices, managing vendor relationships, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and supporting monthly close activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and payments while maintaining accurate coding and documentation.
• Manage accounts receivable, including deposits and reconciliation of cash receipts.
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end account reconciliations.
• Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and electronic payment setups.
• Research and resolve discrepancies or outstanding check issues.
• Support audit preparation by compiling schedules and related materials.
• Maintain and update fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accounting data integrity.

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Strong focus on Accounts Payable (100–200 invoices per week).
• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable and General Ledger processes.
• Degree or coursework in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP).
• Experience with Great Plains or similar accounting systems (PN3 a plus).
• Ability to pass an accounting skills test (journal entries, debits/credits).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Additional Details:

• Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Work Environment: On-site during contract phase; hybrid (3 in-office, 2 remote) after conversion
• Timeline: Interviews within 1 week; anticipated start in approximately 2 weeks
