MEDIC I: $55,932 - $61,525.20 (D.O.E)
FIREFIGHTER/MEDIC I: $58,728 - $64,600 (D.O.E)
FIREFIGHTER/MEDIC II: $61,665 - $67,831 (D.O.E)

The City of Fredericksburg Fire Department is seeking pre-certified Advanced EMTs, EMT-Intermediates, and Paramedics. These skilled professionals will join a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional emergency medical services to the community. Successful applicant for a Medic I vacancy will be at least 18 years of age and will have a high school diploma or GED. Successful applicant for the vacancy requires the possession of certification as EMT-Advanced or higher; current driver’s license and current certifications in CPR, Emergency Vehicle Operators II preferred, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support as required per certification. *Must be willing to take and complete in-house Firefighter training that will be provided.  

Successful applicant for a Firefighter/Medic I vacancy will be at least 18 years of age and will have a high school diploma or GED. Successful applicant for the vacancy requires the possession of certification as EMT-Advanced or Intermediate released by an EMS Physician for a minimum of 1 year; current driver’s license and current certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support as required per certification. Possession of Certification from Virginia Department of Fire Programs, Firefighter I or proboard equivalent; Emergency Vehicle Operator Level II; Hazardous Materials Operations; and IS-100/200/700/800.

Successful applicant for a Firefighter/Medic II vacancy will be at least 18 years of age and will have a high school diploma or GED. Successful applicant for the vacancy requires the possession of certification as EMT-Paramedic released by an EMS Physician for a minimum of 2 years; current driver’s license and current certifications in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Possession of Certification from Virginia Department of Fire Programs, Firefighter II or proboard equivalent; Emergency Vehicle Operator Level II; Hazardous Materials Operations; VDFP Introduction to Technical Rescue; PHTLS or ITLS; IS-100/200/700/800; and REMS released preceptor.
