The Lindy Group - a recognized leader in heavy civil, infrastructure, and transportation construction - is seeking a Transportation Safety Manager to champion our commitment to the highest safety standards across our fleet and operations. This is a key opportunity to make a real impact by shaping driver safety, reducing risk, and fostering a culture where every employee goes home safely every day.
As a Transportation Safety Manager, you'll work directly with our operations and fleet teams to promote and sustain safe driving behaviors across the company. You'll be hands-on, analytical, and people-focused - supporting drivers, supervisors, and managers in identifying risks, coaching performance, and creating proactive safety programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Operations to uphold safety standards and minimize risks across all transportation activities.
Monitor and review dash cam video events to identify unsafe driving behaviors and potential risks.
Analyze safety data and trends to drive coaching priorities and performance improvements.
Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions and group training to improve driving performance.
Assist managers and supervisors in implementing corrective actions and follow-up.
Maintain detailed records of safety incidents, coaching sessions, and training completions.
Develop and deliver customized safety training and driver development programs.
Track fleet performance trends and share actionable insights to enhance overall safety.
Recognize and reward proactive "Stop Work" actions and innovative safety practices.
Lead investigations of vehicle or safety incidents and communicate lessons learned.
Support consistent implementation of safety programs and best practices company-wide.
Assist in managing driver qualification (DQ) files and regulatory documentation.
Conduct safety meetings and trainings for supervisory staff.
We're looking for a strong communicator, team player, and leader who's passionate about building a safer workplace.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Safety or related field preferred.
Proven knowledge of Transportation Safety practices and DOT compliance.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to identify hazards and drive immediate corrective action.
Experience leading training, coaching sessions, and safety meetings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes.
Collaborative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
