Environmental Analyst Review Specialist to join the Environmental team. This position is headquartered in Waukesha at 141 NW Barstow Street.

This position serves a member of the Southeast Region Environmental team. Responsibilities of the position include providing research, analysis, consultation and coordination services to WisDOT staff and management on environmental laws and regulations. The position assists the SE Region operating units, project teams and consultants in development, implementation and documentation of environmental processes under provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Wisconsin Environmental Policy Act (WEPA) and the Department's Environmental operational policies, guidelines and procedures.
This position supports and assists regional project teams in identifying and completing the necessary environmental tasks of their projects. Analyze, evaluate and document impacts of WisDOT plans, programs and projects on the environment. The position will assist in maintaining the environmental program's document inventory system for managing and tracking WisDOT environmental documents. In addition, the position assists with the updating of environmental chapters of the Facilities Development Manual and other WisDOT policy and guidance documents.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range 15-04 with an
annual salary of $54,080-$64,480, plus excellent benefits . A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin (or bordering cities) will be allowed because positions may need to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice.
Qualifications A qualified candidate would have the following criteria:
- Reading and/or understanding environmental laws, rules, policies and/or procedures
- Analyzing, evaluating, or documenting environmental areas of concern (wetlands, hazardous materials, archaeological and historical investigations, threatened and endangered species, natural systems, etc.)
- Working as a member of a team
In Addition To The Criteria Above, a More Than Qualified Candidate Will Have At Least One Of The Following Additional Criteria
- Reading and interpreting or being a part of the development of highway plans, maps, exhibits, or projects.
- Preparing environmental documents in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Wisconsin Environmental Policy Acts (WEPA) regulations
- Preparing and/or analyzing environmental documents for accuracy
